If you have ever wished for an electric bike that folds, Gocycle is here to make your dream a reality. The UK based electric bicycle maker has given us a first look of its upcoming models, the G4 series. They are going to be the fourth generation of eye-catching, premium electric bikes from the company.
There are improvements all over the bike features, even though previous models are already great bikes. They are available as G4, G4i and G4i Plus.
The front hub electric motor is the centerpiece here, with the tune up it has received. You can now power it right from standing position, unlike previous models that needed you to push manually. It is also ‘quiet’ now. Gocycle also claims it will produce more torque and power.
The new G4 bikes manage to shed 1 kg off their weights, thanks to changes like the carbon fiber used for the bike’s mid-frame and single side front fork. The bikes now also have better grip due to the tires that have an infused silica compound in their threads.
There is a USB charging port on the handlebar, to keep your phone juiced up when you are using a map on the go. The double kickstand, running lights hydraulic disc brakes are carried over onto this generation.
Price for the G4 is £3,399 / €3,699 / $3,999, with 40 miles range. The G4i costs £3,999 / €4,499 / $4,999 and offers extra features like predictive electronic shifting, integrated daytime running lights, a more detailed LED dash display, and longer range of 50 miles. The limited top tier G4i Plus costs £4,999 / €5,499 / $5,999, with carbon fiber wheels and color options (bespoke red or glossy black). All the batteries will charge under three and a half hours and the actual range depends on the level of pedal assist used by the rider.
Preorders are open now. If you are willing to pay more, accessories such as mudguards and pannier racks will be made available soon.
