The Nevera started as a concept electric hypercar when it was showcased at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show but became a reality when Rimac revealed it last weeks.
The speed machine uses a 120 kWh battery pack to power four motors, with one on each wheel, for a fantastic 1.4 MW of power or 1,914 horsepower. It will attain 60 miles per hour from 0 miles per hour in just 1.85 seconds. Top speed is 258 miles per hour. The battery system has been optimized so that it can cool down itself, allowing the driver to stay at the peak power for longer.
Rimac wants you to be safe even when you take advantage of all that horsepower, hence has included an all-wheel torque vectoring system that helps to maitain stability and traction. The Nevera will also adjust the braking force to balance the friction brakes in the wheel and the regenerative braking requirements.
There is also an AI powered feature using 12 ultrasonic and six radar sensors and 13 cameras to monitor the environment and help the driver on race tracks optimize performance by giving audio and visual signals about when to turn, brake or accelerate.
The Nevera has a total of three screens in the cockpit, one in the instrument cluster, one in the central of the dashboard and the third one for the passenger. There is a smartphone app which reports live data from the race track and can download the data generated for offline race analysis.
Rimac really paid attention to details in the design of the Nevera and it shows in the final product. For instance, the car maintains a smooth ride with the help of a double wishbone suspension that uses electronically controlled dampers, with the added advantage of easy ride height adjustment.
The Nevera is a limited edition as only 150 of them will be made, which a starting price of $2.4 million. But for that high price, you can customize most of the parts of the hypercar. You will even get an invitation to Croatia to participate in the design when you place an order. Your car will even be tested personally by the company’s founder to ensure top quality for your dollars.
